and...we're back!

We've been back in Sangju for just over two weeks - and it does feel like we never left.
We had a wonderful holiday back in South Africa - thanks to all who made it so!

On our return to Sangju little had changed...the rice is a bit more golden and a bit less green, the persimmons are yellowing, the little old ladies are probably a few more degrees bent over and the little old men a little more Soju-inebriated than before, but life goes on. Coming back has made me once again appreciate the leisurely country pace of things in Sangju - well, at least compared to the rest of Korea!

It's been nice to go back to school and enjoy the relative 'familiarity' of it all - especially when we consider how we felt almost a year ago. The students gave us a lovely warm welcome back and they seem to have missed us - such sweeties!

A few days ago I went for a walk amongst the nearby rice fields with my camera and had fun capturing some locals, creepy-crawlies and pretty rice in the afternoon light. The days are getting shorter and the angle of the sun a little flatter - summer has most definitely given way to autumn. Enjoy the pics!
